Gospel Reflection

Psalm 8, Romans 5:1-5, John 16:12-15
Rev’d Susan Hanna – 12 June 2022

Like a number of you, I was raised as a Presbyterian.  One of the things I enjoy about worshipping with this community is the connection I experience singing the doxology and the three fold amen, which I loved singing as a child.  Probably the reason I did not remain Presbyterian was in 1977, unlike St Ninian’s, St Andrew’s Murwillumbah did not join with the Uniting Church, and my childhood faith diet was a fairly reliable serving of fundamentalism.  In my late teens my inner rebel left that expression of faith, to one day wind up in the world of Anglo Catholicism, which is how I came to first encounter the image on today’s pew bulletin.
