Half a Million Steps documentary

As part of Uniting’s Fair Treatment campaign for drug law reform a very powerful documentary has been released. It runs for 1 hour 20 minutes and covers a walk from Dubbo to Sydney to demonstrate the lack of treatment services for those suffering from drug dependency. People from different walks of life are interviewed along the war including drug users, parents of drug users, Ministers of churches on route, a former police commissioner, a former director of public prosecutions all demonstrating how criminalising drug users is counter-productive. Marion, a member of St Ninian’s also plays a small part in the documentary.

Uniting are encouraging as many people as possible to view the documentary. For more information on where you can view the film or how you might organise a viewing please go to https://nswact.uca.org.au/social-justice/the-social-justice-forum/fair-treatment-campaign/
