Music and the organ

The church has a small pipe organ which was built in 1985 by Anthony Welby.

The hymns are usually from  “Together in Song”, the Australian ecumenical hymn book – successor to the Australian Hymn Book – launched in 1999.  It includes well known hymns by Charles Wesley and other such and more recent hymns by Australians such as James McAuley.

The church also has a choir of about 10 voices, which leads the hymns and presents a short anthem at the 9:30 am service every week from February to December. Twice a year (Palm Sunday and a Sunday before Christmas) the choir presents a choral service in which the music sung by the choir and the hymns sung by the congregation reflect on scripture readings relevant to the season.

Choir practice is on Thursday evenings, 8 pm – 9 pm, February to December with a warm-up at 9am on Sundays before the service. New members are always welcome. Please contact the minister (see home page).
