Preventing Abuse and Making People Safe in our Church Community
At St Ninian’s, we acknowledge the particular vulnerability of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Our Code of Conduct, Leaders Code of Conduct and Safe Ministry Policy set the standard for interactions and behaviors with vulnerable people.
These are designed to ensure all members of the congregation feel safe, included and respected when conducting.
This means leaders in our church are:
- required to hold a Working With Vulnerable People card,
- have a minimum attendance period prior to taking leadership positions,
- are required to undertake the Uniting Church’s Safe Church Training,
- must commit to the Church’s Code of Conduct, and
- must respond and take seriously any allegations of harm or misconduct.
We follow the Principles of a Child Safe Uniting Church.
