St Ninian’s Church in Lyneham has been a welcoming place of worship for well over a century. Established in the 1860s, the church has a rich history, having just celebrated its 150th anniversary, and is conveniently located in central Canberra.
We are pleased to offer our church as a beautiful venue for weddings. Whether you are a member of our congregation or not, we welcome you to celebrate your special day in our historic and charming church.
The first service at St Ninian’s was held on 4 January 1863, and since then, generations of families have been baptized and married here. Our old stone church, made from stones quarried from Black Mountain, is surrounded by recently improved gardens, perfect for couples seeking a romantic and intimate setting for their wedding ceremony.
Our church features stained-glass windows, traditional wooden pews, and a beautiful organ that adds a touch of elegance to any ceremony. Our Minister will work with you to create a personalized and meaningful service.
Bookings include church hire and Minister with the option to include flowers, organist and stewards. We offer attractive rates for the use of facilities, determined at the time of booking.
